Mitchell, built in 1937, is located on the south side. Among its beliefs are that learning happens in a variety of ways; school is only one place where a child learns, and it values the participation and input of families and organizations; learning is an on-going, life-long process. Its mission statement says that "we are committed to teaching the whole child. We believe in fostering self-esteem by valuing the unique contributions brought to school by each child."
